About me
My background and experience
Born in Edmonton, London, back when Dinosaurs still roamed the earth. Schooled in Hertfordshire. Lived all over the UK, plus USA and Germany. Went into computing when they still had switches and flashing lights. Moved into management in my late 20’s, via the defence, retail, construction and software industries. Then in the 2000’s moved into healthcare as one of the very first Board CIOs in the NHS. Transformed my NHS Acute Hospital Trust from State of the Arc to State of the Art, and then went to the darkside. Joined EMIS, at the time the UKs largest clinical systems provider, where I became Deputy MD. Since 2017 I’ve run my own business – The Martin Bell Partnership – providing consultancy support across a wide range of healthcare technology and digital health areas – from mergers and acquisitions to compliance, Board advisory to procurement, supporting start ups and scale ups to large global corporates.
